Brand Communication | Media Production | Creative Operations

paul@kachrismedia.com

I’m a creative operations leader with more than a decade of experience guiding content creation, storytelling, and strategic production. My work spans nonprofit communications, commercial video, photography, and brand development — always grounded in equity, inclusion, and authentic community voice. I offer a blend of hands-on production expertise and senior-level management, having led cross-functional teams and partnered with diverse stakeholders to deliver content that is precise, human-centered, and efficiently aligned with organizational goals.

From grant-funded advocacy media to agency campaigns and institutional storytelling, I’ve built systems that turn complex ideas into clear, compelling narratives. I’m fluent in the tools, workflows, and operational strategies that keep creative teams focused, efficient, and inspired — whether scaling production pipelines, producing high-impact video, or fostering a collaborative culture that brings out the best in every contributor. Above all, I believe great production leadership doesn’t just deliver results — it elevates the stories that move people.

Let’s create something exceptional — together.

ACCESSIBILITY
STANDARDS

Committed to improving digital content accessibility, following WCAG 2.2 Level AA standards.

USAMM

From 2020 to 2024, I served as Creative Director and later Chief Operations Officer at USAMM, the nation’s largest supplier of U.S. Armed Forces uniform accessories. In these dual roles, I led marketing strategy, streamlined workflows, and strengthened cross-departmental communication to support both creative output and organizational growth. My focus was on building sustainable processes that improved efficiency and reinforced trust with customers and stakeholders.

FEATURE FILM WITH DAKOTA MEYER

I directed, produced, filmed, and edited Who We Serve, a feature-length documentary hosted by Medal of Honor recipient Dakota Meyer that profiles military veterans with extraordinary life stories.

The film premiered in a limited theatrical release in November 2023 and is now available on Amazon Prime.

CRISIS COMMUNICATION

PROBLEM:
In 2021, while launching a new Texas fulfillment center, a sudden COVID-era Department of Defense policy change on uniform inspections disrupted the market, frustrating service members and destabilizing inventory, staffing, and P&L forecasting.

COVID Response Video | Newsletter

SOLUTION:
As COO, I prioritized transparent communication to steady both customers and teams. Through newsletters, CEO-led video updates, and website banners, we kept tens of thousands of service members informed during the three-month resolution. This approach stabilized operations and strengthened internal processes.

OUTCOME:

  • Reversed negative brand perception during COVID-19 and DOD policy changes through transparent communications and lifestyle branding, driving record sales while improving customer satisfaction, brand affinity, and product diversity.

  • Successfully opened the Texas fulfillment center—overseeing 300+ hires in six months, creating SOPs, updating HR practices, and coordinating the company-wide public health response.

  • Directed compliance and infrastructure overhauls (electrical, plumbing, HVAC) while sharpening my ability to communicate complex, evolving situations with clarity and trust.

This experience sharpened my ability to clearly communicate complex, evolving situations, fostering transparency and trust during periods of high public scrutiny.

RELISH DIVISION

From 2018 - 2020, I worked as Associate Producer & Post-production Project Manager at the culinary creative agency Relish Division in Portland Oregon. We produced social shorts, recipe videos, stop motion animation, boutique photography, and integrated digital campaigns. I edited more than 100 pieces of short-form content in this period of time.

This team was agile, deliberate, and kinetic. It was my responsibility to conduct manual image corrections, video stabilization, and output for delivery. Ingesting, logging, transcoding, and editing on tight deadlines was the baseline expectation for this position. I was the go-to team-member for audio production/ restoration and story development.

I was ASC Cinematographer Bradley Sellers’ Lead Editor and Camera Operator. Clients included Kitchenaid, Bob’s Red Mill, FINEX, Zupan’s Market, West Village Farms, and more.

MARKETING CAMPAIGN | BOB’S RED MILL

PRIORITY

  • Create a multi-platform, 10-week campaign to increase brand visibility and engagement for Bob’s Red Mill.

  • Collaborate with influencers, cookbook authors, and James Beard Award winners to reach new audiences.

  • Drive urgency and recurring traffic through weekly recipe videos and a cookbook giveaway.

IMPACT

  • Produced and edited all 10 recipe videos, maintaining brand consistency and quality.

  • Enhanced SEO and audience engagement by pairing each video with a dedicated blog post on Bob’s Red Mill’s blog.

  • Sustained high audience interaction throughout the campaign, driving traffic and expanding Bob’s Red Mill’s online presence.

THE REFUGEE CENTER

From 2015 - 2018, my primary client was The Refugee Center. As a freelancer I filmed and edited more than 3 dozen pieces of content ranging from promotional, educational, nonfiction, live event, and fundraising.

The Refugee Center (now USAHello) is a national nonprofit dedicated to helping immigrants and refugees connect with the necessary resources they need to succeed in the United States.

PROYECTO HABESHA

Village to Village is a 2016 snapshot of the arrival and first six months of Syrian students and the peace worker who brought them to Mexico, redefining education advocacy.

The students arrived through Proyecto Habesha, a growing non-profit founded by Adrián Meléndez and sponsored by the UNHCR. By 2023, it evolved into a multi-faceted international education relief network supporting over 100 students in Mexico.

UNSTATED

In 2016 I received the inaugural Andries Deinum Award for Visionaries. This $10,000 cash award is the largest of its kind ever given by Portland State University’s College of the Arts. As the first recipient (and a nontraditional student), I had to set the standard and deliver my project on time for a massive screening at the university. I had to also set a standard for scale, scope, and ethical intention. This generous grant allowed me to produce my first independent documentary UNSTATED - A Refugee Resettlement Story in an Unsettled America. This film went on to have several successful screenings throughout the country and is now used by Catholic Charities to assist in the training of volunteers who work with new arrivals.

BLUEBERRY SOUP

A Wilma’s Wish Production

MY CONTRIBUTION
In 2015, I did a filmmaker interview with Eileen about Blueberry Soup and provided multimedia coverage highlighting the film’s screening tour.

Blueberry Soup is a thoughtful and compelling documentary about Iceland’s constitutional reform following the 2008 financial crisis. The film is a deeply touching account of an eclectic group of individuals reinventing democracy through the rewriting of the nation's constitution.

This timely documentary is now part of KRIA - The Icelandic Constitution Archives.

USAMM

From 2010 to 2015, I was the Media Production Manager at USAMM, leading a team of three in a fast-growing startup. I produced branded media and traveled nationwide to interview military veterans from WWII to active duty.

I worked with animators and motion graphics artists to produce engaging content for a critical and detail-oriented audience - the U.S. Armed Forces.

When I am not behind a computer or a camera - I am running, playing guitar, or enjoying time outdoors with my wife Nadia and our son Ollie.
